Bob Boze Bell

If you've ever wondered what it's like to run a magazine or how crazy my personal life is, be sure to read the behind-the-scenes peek at the daily trials and tribulations of running True West. Culled straight from my Franklin Daytimer, it contains actual journal entries, laid out raw and uncensored. Some of it is enlightening. Much of it is embarrassing, but all of it is painfully true.

In addition to this current journal, my early journal entries show the rocky road and money lost in the True West Business Timeline.

Every once in a while the Camera Gods shine on me. Here is a photo of Deena and Thomas Charles at La Roca Restaurant in Nogales last week:

Pretty sweet photo. Deena has some history in Cochise County. Her mother was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her when Kathy and her husband (me) hiked out to Iron Springs to see where Curly Billy bought the farm. That was March of 1980. And this is Deena in 1984, on the road from Gleeson to Tombstone:

Of course it wasn't easy raising either one of them. Both of them gave their parents a few sleepless nights. But, they came out of it in their twenties. Gee, I wonder if the Old Vaqueros have a metaphor for this?

"A man who carries a cat by its tail learns something he can learn in no other way."
