Went home for lunch and noodled some clouds with a fan brush. It literally looks like a Spanish fan in full bloom with bristles covering 180 degrees. I bought it several years ago to help with blending. It helps feather paint so that it doesn't bunch up and blotch. Spreads things out, as it were.
I had some dramatic, dust storm clouds shaping up, wet into wet, and in order to blend the sky with the edges of the dust, I brought out the fan brush and made several passes. Got it completed, then wondered what would happen if I took a few passes at the actual clouds (which were still wet):
Breakthrough! The fan brush takes normal fluff and gives it a push, simulating strong wind. Sometimes you learn just by doing.
