Left the house yesterday at eight in the morning and drove to Wikiup for breakfast. Then on in to Kingman for a book signing at the Powerhouse Museum at noon.
Of course, I can't make that trip up Highway 93 without being inspired by all the great scenery in Mohave County. Woke up this morning and did this little study after breakfast.
Daily Whip Out: "Midnight On The Colorado"
The director of the Powerhouse Museum has been tweaking the BBB show with more lights and information, like this pull quote from Professor Paul Andrew Hutton:
Hutton quote that appears on the back of the book and in the Powerhouse Museum in Kingman.
Signed some books, laughed with friends and took off for home at three, and went the back way to Bagdad (low on gas), then up and over to Hillside and on to Kirkland Junction for dinner at this historic place:
The legendary Kirkland Junction Steakhouse
Had the filet and cowboy beans and drove the back way through Peeple's Valley and Yarnell, then down to Congress and on to Wickenburg and home. Long run, 12-and-a-half hours, to sell 13 books. Was it worth it?
"Never allow anyone to rain on your parade and thus cast a pall of gloom and defeat on the entire day. Remember that no talent, no self-denial, no brains, no character, are required to set up in the fault-finding business. Nothing external can have any power over you unless you permit it. Your time is too precious to be sacrificed in wasted days combating the menial forces of hate, jealously and envy."
