Sepia Secrets, Amber Glow & A Love That Didn't Work Out Right

 August 16, 2021

There's many things I love about old photographs, but there's one thing I am absolutely obsessed with.

Daily Whip Out: "Sepia Secrets"

Faded photographs from the nineteenth century give off such a wonderful glow and they hide secrets. It seems almost magical. And the more faded the photograph, the more I am intrigued. We even have a name for this when we are designing True West covers. We call it "amber glow," as in, I think that image needs a touch of Amber Glow.

In fact, I keep a clip file of faded sepia images, like this:

(for inspiration)

That's how I ended up here.

Daily Whip Out: "Arizona Charlie"

   And here:

"Little Miss Sepia"

"Faded photograph, covered now with lines and creases. Tickets torn in half, memories in bits and pieces. Traces of love, long ago that didn't work out right. Traces of love, with me tonight."
