Still rammin' and jammin' trying to find the dusty sweet spot for our Daltons vs. Coffeyville cover for May. Perhaps the most cogent editorial takeaway is this.
Daily Whip Out:
"The Fake Whiskers Fooled No One"
(unfinished)
But, as I mentioned yesterday, our art director, Dan The Man, prefers something a little more legendary for the cover, and I also want to do the Eighth Street entrance quote with a little more background accuracy and do it justice as well. That would be this one.
"The five men rode boldly and at a swinging trot, raising a cloud of dust which literally enveloped them as they passed down Eighth Street."
—An Eyewitness Account, on October 5, 1892
So, perhaps something between the above, and what I've done before?
Daily Whip Out:
"The Daltons Swallowed Up In a Cloud of Dust"
(unfinished)
Overproducing? Oh, yes, but frankly, I don't know how else to do it.
"In great narratives, there's always people that are left out."
