Sat outside yesterday afternoon for the first time in many moons. Finally cool enough is the reason. Here was the view from across the yard.
Pump House Blues
When my daughter Deena yells at her kids to get off their phones I have to laugh.
"Deena, get off the phone!"
(circa 1993)
Got some groovy stuff going for our book.
Fintastic!

What is it about the DeSoto that gives a rise to your heart?
Had lunch with Jack Alves today at Cryin' Coyote BBQ and it was fun catching up with the lead guitar player from The Razz Band. Of course we have some crazy band stories and it was rolling deep in no time.
The Razz Band, circa 1979, that's Jack at left.
Jack was telling me about this crazy gig where someone tripped and spilled wine on his National guitar and Ed Asner came over to help him and I said, "Dude, I was there, that was at the Wrigley Mansion when I met Ed Asner." I know he didn't quite believe me, but here's the proof, snatched from a 2010 blog post:
People ask me all the time, Hey Boze, show me that 1980 photo of you and Ed Asner (The Mary Tyler Moore Show). And, I'm like, you mean that photo taken at the Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix where New Times reporter Jana Bommersbach introduced Kathy and I to Mr. Asner and he pointed at Kathy's stomach and said to me, "What did you do to her?" (Kathy was very pregnant with Deena).

(still have the hat)
And, by the way, that snotty teenager on the phone, above, is what came out of that, well, you know.
