Got a call from Buckeye Blake. He's in town for the High Noon Auction this week and he met me for lunch at El Encanto. We both had the mole enchiladas and they were mighty good (Buckeye is as much a mole nut as my son Thomas Charles).
Buckey just got back from the 25th Annual Elko Cowboy Poetry Slam, and he raved about the Old-Timey-Westerness of the event (he's been going since the beginning). Made me want to go.
Came home and went out to the studio and whipped out a color study of Pat Garrett In Shadows:
In this one I left out the vigas completely. I'm going to try a couple more composites with the vigas. I can just see it in my mind, but haven't been able to nail it in the composits. Need to work out all the problems before I tackle the big oil.
