I wanted to see some new country, so I took off from Albuquerque this morning and crossed the Rio Grande and motored up into the Jemez Mountains, crossing over the high pass and dropping into Los Alamos. Lots of big clouds and storms the past three days.
Distant Rain Over Santa Fe
Big storms all the way.
Big Ass Clouds Over the Jemez Mountains
Circled back to Santa Fe. Thanks to Gary Cozzens I have a cultural pass to see all the monuments and museums in New Mexico, so I drove up to Museum Hill to see the In-din and Folk Art displays. After that, I drove down to Lamy to visit with artist Thom Ross
Kid Ross With Charlie Russell Cutout
Thom is doing a bunch of art for a PBS show on Charlie Russell that will air this coming fall.
Kid Ross: "Gunfighter"
Took off from Santa Fe and motored back north to Georgia O'Keeffe Country. Landed at the Abiquiu Inn around nine. Going to explore these canyons today.
