Went for a walk this morning and got out on the road late because Kathy Facetimed me from Spain (it's night there, morning here). I was worried about the heat, but I met two neighbors out for a walk with their dog and they said, "Nice out, isn't it?" Haven't heard those words in about four months.
Looks like we survived another season in hell (August had record high temperatures—117!—and the lows were never below 91, at night!). Big storm blew in on Monday night and knocked out power to 55,000 people in the Valley. Excellent photograph in the Arizona Republic the next morning by David Kadlubowski capturing the chaos of being caught in a car in a monsoon. Inspired this morning's effort.
