I have been known to overproduce. It is both a blessing and a curse. In recent weeks I have striven for a lighter touch, to try and quit earlier on artwork and to keep it simple. Be that as it may, I've created four different takes on Lotta Crabtree as a possible cover for our Women's book and here they are, starting with the latest one which I finished this morning.
Lotta Overproducing Going On
Daily Whip Out: "Whole Lotta Love #4"
I am so punch drunk on this I can't decide which one is the best for the cover. If I had to make a choice, I think number one has the most authentic Victorian look, number two is too cartoony (I was trying to emulate Alphonse Mucha) and number four has potential. I like the very subtle pistol peeking out. Number three is meh.

I love them all, but #4 shows her gun under her delightfully colored clothing! Love the pink! What a contrast with the girly pink and the deadly silver gun!
ReplyDelete#1 and #4 are, both, awesome. I think you'll like your cover text laid over #1, though. Just my two cents. Great work!
ReplyDeleteA serious #4 for me…
ReplyDelete#4 as the blue eyes seem to grab you.
