Just got this report in from New Mexico.
Deming, New Mexico Walmart placement
A zany friend of mine requested a cover concept along these lines.
Daily Whip Out:
"Bill and Zoe Tilghman Ride On"
Needs some work, but I like the direction.

"You have a GREAT magazine and I appreciate all of the hard work (and writing talent) it takes to keep a high standard of publishing!!!! I drop everything to read the latest issue when it comes to my house. I am a TW Maniac (#2453) and I realize I have not paid you anything for a while as inflation continues for your magazine operation. Therefore, I would like to mail you some money to go toward helping this situation. Who do I mail it to - you? Or, whatever you suggest. Thanks for your time from your busy life. Let me know what I can do... Happy New Year!!!"

Bobbie is not alone. Another Maniac subscriber sent us $200. See, here's the deal: if you pay to be a Maniac, it is a one time sub fee (it started at $130) and you get the rest of your magazines for free, for life.
Amuse-Douche
"An activity that you've adored since you were a kid—riding bikes, reading books, taking pictures, cooking food—whose enjoyment dissolves on contact with hard-core fanatics' ferocious obsession with technique."
—John Koenig, "The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows"
I never can find this 'zine or any other like it, such as the Civil War ones, at any stores, though I used to see them at Publix.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a subscription to this one, though!
