Still having fun with dust storms. This is the fifth in a series of haboobs. They're a hoot to do.
"A '62 Caddie Is About to Get Sandblasted"
I'm also zeroing in on my final Texas book images.
"Santa Fe Trail Wagon Train Scout"
I'm going to do a YouTube video on authentic Westerns and I saw this list from a good friend of mine.
Marshall Weighs In
If you asked ten different western film aficionados, you would likely get ten different answers, so here are mine.
1. The Searchers (1956)
2. Shane (1953)
3. Monte Walsh (1970)
4. Dances with Wolves (1990)
5. High Noon (1953)
6. Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1947)
7. Ride the High Country (1962)
8. Red River (1948)
9. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)
10.The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)
11. Lonesome Dove, 1989, was a mini-series. It's based on a true story with a great cast and everything in the movie is authentic. It’s one of a kind.

Now, the interesting thing to me is, Marsh is ten years older than me and although we agree on the most of these picks, one of the films he doesn't even mention is now the number one Western according to a new poll by the Scottsdale Museum of the West. That film tomorrow. It pays to listen up.
On the other hand, there's something to be said for being clueless.
"If I were committed to reality as much as most people, I wouldn't have achieved anything. Never face facts."
