Pushin' Eighty

 August 12, 2026

Yes, you might say I've got "pushin' eighty" on the brain. Just the damn number is haunting me, especially since it represents eight decades on the planet! This is daunting enough, but now I hear it everywhere. Read on.

Morning Thunderhead Over Green Door

  1. I can definitely relate to the way a number can suddenly seem to follow you everywhere once it gets into your head. But honestly, eighty sounds less like an expiration date and more like a milestone worth appreciating. The Alabama Hills photos and that morning thunderhead seem like a pretty good reminder that there’s still plenty to notice, enjoy, and chase down the road. And yes, I’d take “pushin’ eighty” as an attitude rather than a number!
