Some concern this weekend about whether the marriage of genres in Cowboys & Aliensconstitutes a new “my chocolate is in your peanut butter” moment.
C&A dodged a bullt, when the actual numbers were reported today, C&A, starring Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig, narrowly claimed the No. 1 spot with $36.4 million in ticket sales, according to distributor Universal Pictures.
The Smurfs, Sony Pictures' PG-rated computer-animated/live-action hybrid, ended up with a slightly lower tally of $35.6 million.
The buzz on our street is good. Lots of friends (here on earth) and on Facebook are reporting positive reviews and good word of mouth.
Next weekend will be the real test. Our cover story, Cowboys & Aliens; Would the Duke Approve? will start arriving to subscribers soon after.
