When the screenwriter, Kevin Jarre, was fired from the movie Tombstone in the middle of filming, the filmmakers had a mess on their hands. "Kitty 'Cantankerous' Collins"

Her admirers—and there were many—claimed she discovered parts of Badwater Basin in Death Valley but most historians scoff at her claims. She did, however, cut a fine figure in buckskins, which has long been a solid marker for what men would rather believe.
