Where Eagles Dare

 June 3, 2026

They were standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona and they weren't much of a sight to see.

Old Man Brennan had come to town to see a man about a horse, and his hapless son-in-law, Thadeous, was tasked with baby sitting the old man.

"Dad burn skirts, gittin' higher and higher ever time I come to town."

"They keep this up, those hemlines gonna end up in their throat, don'cha see?"

"Well dad, I reckon you got a point there. Say, who is that woman over there by the drugstore?"

   "That there's the mayor's wife. She's a looker ain't she? She drives a flat-bed Ford. Scandalous I tell you."
And, so the stage was set for a certain future Eagle to arrive.

Where Eagles Dare!

The alleged flatbed Ford driven by 17-year-old Phyllis Hawkins of Winslow, Arizona.

And now, you know the REST of the story.

Eagles point to the exact spot where old man

Brennan stood while inspiring the song.

"We may lose and we may win, but we'll never be here again so open up I'm climbin' in. . ."

—Eagles, Take It Easy
