I enjoy Sundays because I can recharge and read the newspapers. Discovered something about myself this morning:
When disaster strikes I immediately go through the pecking order of caring: is it one of my kids? Is it a neighbor? Is it someone I know? Is it someone from Cave Creek? Is it someone from Kingman? Is it someone from Arizona? Is it a subscriber?
And the farther away the bad news gets, the less I seem to care. I'm not proud of this, but it even extends to buildings. Case in point:
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (June 1) - A massive fire raged on a back lot at Universal Studios on Sunday, devouring several movie sets, including mock New York and New England streets. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Whew! Didn't get the Western sets.
