Gettin' Shady With Forty Dollar Sadie

June 4, 2013
Twelve years ago, in our sold-out February-March, 2001 issue (our most sought after back issue with a good copy bringing $300 or more), we broke a story about Josie "Sadie" Marcus, otherwise known as Mrs. Wyatt Earp. Written by Carol Mitchell (her grandfather was a pallbearer for Wyatt Earp) the article made the claim for the first time that there is reason to believe a known prostitute in the Prescott area who went by the name of Sadie Mansfield was, in fact, Sadie Marcus.

Here's a link to the article Lady Sadie.

"After Wyatt died, Josephine refused to let anyone call her Sadie."
