cornholing in Pasadena
August 8, 2013
We're heading to the beach today. Had fun yesterday lounging around Pasadena in the cool air. It's so amazing for a Zonie to actually have to wear a sweater in the a.m. in AUGUST! Meanwhile, T. Charles went to the store and bought a game they call "Cornhole" in Baltimore (literal name is "bean bag toss"). Tomas set it up on Deena's lawn and we played a couple games in the evening just to give the whole neighborhood a redneck feel.
My son loves taco trucks so after we visited the Getty I tasked him with finding the best tacos in LA. He drove us all the way across Sunset, past Silver Lake (where Deena lived for a time) and into Echo Park, where we landed at Tacos Ariza. Very, very good tacos.
And here's a mural by Deena's house:
"I bet when Hugh Hefner dies no one will say 'He's in a better place now'"
