Hats Off To Carl Marvin Bell

 January 8, 2024

If you live long enough, many cycles are completed that defy gravity and are simply stunning.

This seems so ancient, it feels almost new. We—that would be the 66 Kids—are creating a new line of product with this theme, and here it is in a blog related context.

Legends of The Road: Al Bell's Flying A

Looking back at the the blog post this was taken from, I realized something just now.

Gunfight at The Chloride Corral

Hats Off to Carl Marvin Bell

That photo taken near Chloride of me and my grandfather in 1958 begats a long cycle completed.

Grandfather Carl Marvin Bell
age 78

Today I am the same age as my grandfather is in this photo and I don't know about you, but this is flippin' freaky. And, yes, he always wore hats. In fact, after his passing, in 1982, I was honored with receiving his entire hat collection which I display proudly in my studio. (photo tomorrow)

Life is so ironic. It takes sadness to know what happiness is, noise to appreciate silence and absence to value presence. Or, as that hell bent for leather guy put it:

"The path to paradise begins in hell."
