Yesterday, Dave Daiss took me to lunch at Tonto Bar & Grill (he paid and wanted me to make sure I put that in the blog). Nice talking to him. He's got his house for sale here in Cave Creek. Wants to move completely to Elgin, where he and Doreen have a small ranch. Dave tells me Doreen won't even leave. Loves it down there. It is pretty, and was the setting for several movies including Red River and parts of Tombstone.

Picked up my mom and Lou at Sky Harbor last night at six. On the way out noticed that gas prices have gone down by about 50 cents since last weekend. When I left for Wichita gas was running about $2.99 a gallon, but yesterday I saw one gas station sign at $2.53.

Kathy cooked a turkey with all the trimmings, with banana cream pie, plus apple pie and ice cream. A very nice meal and evening. And of course we looked at photos of the family, including my mom's parents, and her sisters and all those in between.

Working hard on several characters for the Top Secret Project. Here's a study for one of the main dudes:

The Top Secret Writer wants him to be darker and meaner, so I have been leaning on that visage (although my natural inclination is to aim him more towards Orlando Bloom territory).

"Far from being the basis of the good society, the family, with its narrow privacy and tawdry secrets, is the source of all our discontents."
