December 3, 2009
January issue is almost put to bed. Last minute corrections and typos being corrected, late ads coming in over the transom, I mean, internet.

Meanwhile, just got word from a friend of mine that Gale Cooper has a movie in the works based on her self-published novel Mega Hoax. As mentioned, The Top Secret Writer, Meghan Saar, Bob McCubbin and myself are prominently mentioned as being part of a nefarious plot to elect Bill Richardson president of the United States. Although we were thwarted in our nefarious attempt to take over the government, we hopefully will have some say in who plays us in the movie. I told Hutton that if I had to guess, I would imagine Cooper would want Philip Seymour Hoffman to play the evil, shape shifting cuckoo bird (that would be Paul).

Hutton suggested the Deadwood bad guy, Ian McShane, could be a good Bob McCubbin. Other casting suggestions I would make are:

• Kristin Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), or Janel Moloney (Donna Moss in West Wing) as The Lioness, Meghan Saar

• Randy Quaid (The Long Riders, Brokeback Mountain) as Steve Sederwall

• Benicio del Torro as Governor Richardson

• Steve Buscemi (Fargo) as BBB

And if you don't think Steve is right, just check out this photo from Grant Sergot of Optimo Hatworks in Bisbee:
