Squibe's Mother for Charlie

February 6, 2015
Went home for lunch and to meet the heater guy and while he was working on the roof, I whipped out a little study:

Daily Whip Out: "Squibe's Mother"

I wanted to do a Native American woman wrapped in a white blanket and for some reason I thought of Whistler's series of women in white, and then, of course I came to one of his most famous paintings, "Whislter's Mother, and then the obvious question became, if this was an In-din mother who exactly would it be and that was easy, because Nay Nish and Squibe Nish were two of our favorite Hualapais. My only regret is that this guy doesn't get to see it:

Charlie would probably have preferred "Squibe's Mama," but I wanted the formality of it, as in the famous painting. Anyway, somewhere Bugs is smiling.

"I had to quit AA. I don't know if you know this, or not, but they've got some pretty strict rules about drinking."
