The Notorious Hunk Hoppers of Albert Lee

Before my father got drafted in WWII he served for a short time as a Hunk Hopper (a cousin to car hops) at a drive-in south of Albert Lee, Minnesota. The idea was to get these farm hunks and put them in shorts and cowboy boots to draw in the milk maid crowd, which if you've ever been in northern Iowa or southern Minnesota, you know there are more than a few.

And here's my father and his Hunk Hopper amigo, Milton on the Route 66 Fun Run in the 1990s.
