Did this one on my birthday and you can file this under "Wishful Thinking."

Meanwhile, in the real world:
Forever Riding, Forever Whining
Lots of reflection, of course on this birthday. Big number, 72. However, to put it all in perspective, I got a phone call from my stepfather, Lou Cady, Jr, who lives in Texas with one of his kids. He is 97 years old and still driving! He was complaining that in Texas they will only give you a two year license after the age of 95. He considers it an act of bad faith. Crazy old coot.
One final note, he gave up on archery recently, but he has taken up the trombone! He's working on "A Tisket A Tasket." I told him I want to be him when I grow up.
"I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd, but when they said, 'Sit down,' I stood up, Ooh, ohhhhh, growin' up."

ReplyDeleteMy dad would agree
At 86 he gave up his keys, sold the SUV.
Hasn't been happy since.
Happy Birthday, Bob!
