Big Jack Action, Part II

 November 14, 2021

It's time for a series of very quick, daily whip outs, every single one, with the exception of one.

Daily Whip Out:

"Mickey Grabs Some Air On That Big, Bad Jack"

Daily Whip Out: "More Big Jack Action"

Daily Whip Out:

"Even More Big, Jack Action"

Daily Whip Out: "Total Big, Jack Action"

So, who gave me the courage? This guy.

"Go write. Go draw. Right now. Punch your excuses in the face."

—Gene Luen Yang, creator of Shang-Chi, and a graphic novel veteran

  1. As a long time comic book collector and True West Maniac #590 I would like to give a thought to your struggle with the Mickey Free graphic novel adaption. What you have done with the Illustrated Times collection has been a breath of fresh air to often told stories- a truly innovative style in historical story telling. Have you seen Indeh by Eathan Hawke and Greg Ruth? Also their newly released Meadowlark? These two books are more graphic movies than graphic novels. They don't follow the standard graphic novel layout and may be a better inspiration for your Mickey Free story. Find the best MF* story to tell and let the reader follow up on the history. Like the difference between the movies Tombstone and Wyatt Earp- find the simple story not the Britannica history. I Would love to read a great western that featured an interesting character like MF*. Best of wishes to you! *abbreviated for Mickey Free not to be confused for... well you know what I mean.
