Spent a delightful and productive day at home. Went on three bike rides and worked on scratchboards. Here's one of the cool things about scratchboard. You start with a black piece of board and then with sharp, little knives you start taking away lines, like this:
This is the Apache Kid Cave I was telling you about yesterday. It has a sort of dusk, or twilight effect. Now, if we take away more, we get this:
Hey, look, some guy is riding up to the cave and leading someone with a rope around their neck. I wonder what they are going to do? Well, let's scratch away some more and see:
It's the Apache Kid and he's got a woman prisoner and he's starting a fire. She doesn't look very happy, although the Kid's horse is glad to have a load off (added with a touch of black ink).
