Got some good coverage in Utah, from a phoner I did last week. Check it out:
Utah town gives Elko a run for its money
"Even if you subscribe to True West magazine, you might have missed the brief article (next to an ad for a fast-draw pistol) on page 55 of the March issue.
"The entry is titled 'Editors' Picks: Best Cowboy Poetry Gatherings.' And it contained this shocker: Elko, Nev., the legendary home of the first gathering 23 years ago, is not atop the list. It's only No. 2. Heber City, which will host its 13th annual gathering Tuesday through Nov. 11, was ranked No. 1.
"'Elko has been the perennial winner,' said Bob Boze Bell, executive editor of the magazine. 'But we solicit opinions from our writers all over the country. We like little towns that put on big shows.'"
—By David Burger, The Salt Lake Tribune
