Had a great weekend drawing with this guy.
The Painter
He's eight so naturally he wanted to know how to draw crazy eyes. Found an old Mutt & Jeff drawing with the crazy eyes and showed to him. We both laughed. How can you not?
So, drawing together (I did the broad strokes and he filled in the details) we copied the old Jeff drawing. Together we nailed that look. I told him to name the painting, which he did at the bottom.
Daily Whip Out: "Mr. Peepee Head"
I especially liked how the hat is flying up off his head because of some surprise. Cartoonists don't use this staple any more and I think we are poorer because of it.
